Is she 3 or 30?

Kate has always been a talker. She started talking well at 18 months and has not shut up since. We have never talked baby talk to her and she spends the majority of her time with adults. This has led to to a 3 year-old that talks like she is 30. Examples to follow...

Recently, she was telling a teacher at her preschool a story about her dog. When asked if she just one pet she responded "actually, I have 2 dogs, 3 cats and 3 fish."

At the football game on Friday she was looking through her Uncle Gary's binoculars and he asked what she was looking for. She responded " I am looking for Carleigh and she is no where to be seen."

Kate has picked up a new transition statement that she uses when she is wants to move to a subject that she finds more appealing that the one we have chosen. I was talking to her about the importance of keeping her toys picked up out of the floor and she discussed it with me for a moment and then said " In any event, I need a snack. Can I have some cheezits?"

Incidentally is probably my favorite of all her "grown-up" words. She uses it perfectly in her stories. I find it hard not to laugh at her when she uses such "big" words and phrases. She is so much like me in so many ways but when talks, she is all Clint. It makes me love them both even more!
